1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, uploading a document, or otherwise using Flint PDF (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Flint PDF is a General Software product, operated by Workshop Operations Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 14842982). If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.
These terms apply to the Flint PDF website at flintpdf.com, the web application, and any associated documentation and support services.
2. The Flint Service
Flint PDF is a web-based suite of PDF tools, including compression, conversion, merging, splitting, reordering, page editing, annotation, redaction, in-place text editing, electronic signing, and signature collection. Some features run entirely in your browser; others require server-side processing and your documents being transmitted to and stored on our infrastructure.
We may update, change, or remove features at any time. Where a change materially reduces the functionality you paid for under an active Pro subscription, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.
3. Your Account
You may use parts of the Service without an account, but most features (including saving documents, sending signature requests, and accessing Pro tools) require you to sign in.
- You are responsible for the security of the email address associated with your account — magic-link sign-in is tied to your inbox.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create a Flint PDF account.
- You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
4. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process, store, or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harmful, or violates the rights of others;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by applicable law;
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications, phishing attempts, or any signature requests the recipient has not consented to;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialise the Service or any portion of it without our written permission;
- Attempt to circumvent any usage limits, paywalls, or security features;
- Use the Service to process content that violates export control or sanctions laws.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions, with or without notice.
5. Payment & Billing
Flint Pro is offered as a paid subscription or one-time day-pass. All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, sales tax, and VAT on our behalf.
- Prices are displayed in your local currency where possible and include applicable taxes as determined by Paddle.
- By completing a purchase, you agree to Paddle's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
- For subscription plans, your payment method will be charged automatically at the start of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- A 24-hour pass is a single-charge product. Once activated, the pass is non-renewing and expires automatically.
- Receipts and invoices are issued by Paddle and delivered to the email address provided at checkout.
For questions about billing, refunds, or payment disputes, please refer to our Refund Policy or contact us directly.
6. Free Tier
Flint PDF offers a free tier that includes browser-side tools and a limited set of features. The boundary between free and Pro features is subject to change — any feature gated behind Pro will be clearly indicated in the application.
Free accounts are subject to usage limits we may apply at our sole discretion to protect the Service from abuse.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in Flint PDF, including but not limited to software code, design, graphics, documentation, trademarks, and trade names, are and remain the exclusive property of Workshop Operations Ltd.
Nothing in these terms grants you any right, title, or interest in our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us without obligation or compensation to you.
8. Your Content
You retain all rights in the PDFs, signatures, and other content you upload to Flint PDF. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, render, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (and, where you direct us to, to the recipients of a signature request).
You represent that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload, and that the content does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law.
9. Electronic Signatures
Flint eSign enables you to collect electronic signatures from recipients. By using the eSign feature:
- You confirm that the recipients you designate have consented (or that you have a legitimate basis under applicable law) to receive a signature request from you.
- You acknowledge that, while we capture an audit trail (timestamp, IP, device, browser) to support the evidentiary weight of each signature, Flint PDF does not provide legal advice and the enforceability of an electronic signature depends on the jurisdiction, the nature of the document, and the conduct of the parties.
- For documents that require qualified or advanced electronic signatures under eIDAS, or wet-ink signatures under jurisdiction-specific law, Flint PDF may not be appropriate — you are responsible for choosing the right tool for each use case.
10. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials;
- Ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws;
- Maintaining adequate backups of your content. While we design for durability, Flint PDF is not a substitute for your own backups;
- Ensuring you have the right to send signature requests to the recipients you designate.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flint PDF and Workshop Operations Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or GBP 50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these terms, without prior notice and without liability to you.
- You may stop using the Service at any time. For subscription plans, you may cancel from your billing settings inside the app or by contacting us.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service is immediately revoked. We will retain your data only for as long as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, your content licence, and governing law survive termination.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or through the application.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must stop using the Service.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
