Are my files private?
Yes. Files are tied to your account and processed over an encrypted connection. We don't share them and they aren't used for training.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Flint runs entirely in your browser. There's nothing to download and no plugin to install.
Is compression destructive?
Compression itself is non-destructive in Flint. Every original is kept as a previous version, so you can roll back to the uncompressed file at any time.
Will my text stay searchable?
Yes. We optimize embedded images and PDF streams but don't re-save the text layer, so search, copy, and selection keep working.
What's the maximum file size?
Free uploads are capped at a smaller size. Pro accounts can compress PDFs up to 250 MB.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what's inside. Scans and image-heavy PDFs often shrink by 60-80%. Text-only PDFs are already small and see more modest gains.
