Reorder PDF with appendix

Appendices that ended up in the wrong place — moved to the end (or elsewhere) in one drag.

Your dissertation's appendix is between chapters 5 and 6 — somehow it got slotted in mid-document. It should be at the very end, after the conclusion.

Moving a multi-page appendix is the same operation as moving a chapter — drag the range. Flint handles it.

Find the appendix range

Open reorder PDF. Scroll until you see the appendix in the thumbnail grid (look for 'Appendix A' headers). Note its start and end pages — say pages 132-180. Range-select '132-180'. Drag the selection to after the last page.

Drop at the right position

Drag your selection past the current last page. The drop zone extends past the visible grid for exactly this case. Drop. The appendix now occupies positions N-48 to N (where N is total page count). Save.

Multiple appendices in order

If you have Appendix A, B, C and they're scattered, move them one at a time to the end. Each one becomes the new last block. By the time you're done, they sit A, B, C at the end. Save.

Bookmarks and references

If your appendix has bookmarks, they follow the move. References in the text ('see Appendix A on page 145') become out of date — Flint can't update typed page references in body text. Either rely on internal hyperlinks (which do update) or do a find-and-replace in the source document and re-export.

FAQ

Should the appendix have its own page numbering?

Often yes — 'A-1, A-2' style. PDF page labels support this. Use edit PDF to set page labels for the appendix range.

Can I move an appendix to be a separate file?

Yes — split by range extracts the appendix as its own PDF. Send it alongside the main document.

Will internal cross-refs to the appendix still work?

Internal hyperlinks remap to new page positions. Plain-text references ('page 145') do not.

What about a glossary or index after the appendix?

Same approach. Move each as a block to its right position. Final order: chapters, appendices, glossary, index.

Range-select, drag, save. Move the appendix.
