How to rotate PDF pages on iPhone

Fix sideways or upside-down PDF pages on iPhone in Safari. Rotate individual pages or the whole document in seconds.

Scanned a contract with the iPhone, posted three pages perfectly, then page four shows up sideways. iOS will rotate the preview on screen, but the rotation doesn't save to the file. Email it and the recipient sees the sideways page anyway.

Fix the file itself, in Safari, in under a minute.

Why iOS rotation doesn't stick

Files and Quick Look show PDFs at whatever orientation the device guesses is right. Tilt the iPhone, rotate the page, and you see it correctly — but the underlying PDF still has the wrong rotation flag. Anyone opening it elsewhere sees the original (wrong) orientation.

Flint's rotate tool writes the rotation into the file. Once saved, it's correct everywhere — Mail, Drive, Acrobat, a printer, anything.

Rotating one page or all of them

Open Safari, head to Flint, upload the PDF. Each page shows as a thumbnail. Tap the rotate button under the page you want to turn — 90° at a time. Repeat per page, or use Rotate all if the whole document is sideways. Download the fixed PDF back to Files.

Fast scan-fix flow: scan in Notes, send to Flint, rotate, save back. Three steps, one minute.

Combining with other fixes

While you've got the document open, knock out other small fixes — reorder pages if the scanner shuffled them, delete blank pages the scanner accidentally added, compress if it came out huge. Doing all of it in one Flint session beats running four separate tools.

FAQ

Will rotation lose any text or signatures on the page?

No. Rotation only changes the orientation flag — content, text layer, embedded fonts, and signatures all stay intact. The PDF is identical except for which way is up.

Can I rotate odd vs even pages differently?

Yes. Flint lets you select pages individually before rotating. Useful for two-sided scans where alternating pages come out upside down — select the wrong-way ones, rotate, save.

Does this work on iPad too?

Exactly the same — Flint runs in Safari on iPad with the same flow. The bigger thumbnails on iPad make page selection easier for documents with lots of pages.

Sideways scans are a five-second fix. Rotate the pages in Safari and email the right way up.
