Drive shows the scan rotated correctly. You email it. Recipient opens it sideways. The fix isn't on their end — it's that Drive's view rotation doesn't save into the file.
Flint writes the rotation in. Once fixed, it's correct in every app.
The fix
Open Chrome, head to Flint's rotate tool. Upload the PDF. Each page shows as a thumbnail. Tap rotate under any page that's wrong. Or use Rotate all if the whole document's sideways. Download the fixed file.
Combined with other cleanup
Scans often need more than rotation. Compress to make it emailable. Delete blank pages the scanner accidentally added. Reorder if pages came out shuffled. All in one Flint session.
Different rotation per page
Two-sided scans sometimes have alternating pages upside down. Select individual pages in Flint, rotate them 180°, leave the others alone. Saves the dance of feeding pages through a desktop scanner manually.
FAQ
Will rotation lose signatures or annotations?
No. Only the orientation changes — content stays intact. Signatures, text, annotations, embedded fonts all preserve through rotation.
Why does Drive show it correctly but the file is wrong?
Drive's preview applies a viewing rotation that doesn't write back to the file. The underlying PDF still has the original orientation. Only saving a corrected version (in Flint, Acrobat, or similar) fixes the file itself.
Does this work on Android tablets?
Same flow. Bigger thumbnails on tablet screens make selecting pages easier for long documents.
Sideways scan? Rotate it in Chrome, download, resend. Minute or less.
