iCloud Drive syncs PDFs across your Apple devices automatically. Editing them is more nuanced — Preview on Mac handles annotation, Markup on iOS does the same. For real text edits, neither is enough.
Flint plus iCloud Drive is the cross-device editing flow.
From a Mac
iCloud Drive PDFs appear in Finder. Drag the file into a Flint browser tab. Edit. Download — the file lands in Downloads. Move it to iCloud Drive to sync back to other devices.
For in-place editing, save the Flint output directly to your iCloud Drive folder using the browser's save dialog.
From iPhone or iPad
Files app shows iCloud Drive content. Tap a PDF, share → Open in Safari. Or open Safari first, go to Flint, drop the file in via the file picker (which can access iCloud Drive). Edit, download — file goes to Files (your choice of folder, including iCloud Drive).
From Windows via iCloud.com
Windows users without iCloud installed can access iCloud.com in any browser. Sign in, navigate to iCloud Drive, download the PDF, edit in Flint, upload back via iCloud.com's interface. Works but requires more clicks than on a Mac.
FAQ
Does iCloud Drive have an edit history?
iCloud Drive doesn't expose version history to users directly. For files in iCloud Drive's recover area, recently deleted files can be restored within 30 days. For active versioning, save with new names or use Time Machine.
Will edits sync to all my Apple devices?
If you save the edited PDF to iCloud Drive, yes — typically within seconds on good connections. The file appears on every signed-in device.
Can I edit shared iCloud Drive PDFs?
Shared iCloud Drive files behave like normal files for participants. Download a copy, edit, save back to the shared folder. Other participants see the changes after sync.
iCloud holds, Flint edits. Works across Apple devices and beyond.
